What made you think I was being critical of him?

In the Catholic Church, the Pope is regarded as the successor of Saint Peter, the Apostle. The current office-holder is Pope Benedict XVI, who was elected in a papal conclave on 19 April 2005 and is expected to hold office until 28 February 2013, the date on which he has said he will resign.

It’s fine if you don’t like the man, but at least trust that the Holy Spirit will not allow him to do wrong to the Church even if he wanted to.
